Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Lasia spionsa is an aquatic aroid found in tropical parts of Asia. Growing from 3 feet to over 6 feet tall. This makes for an impressive looking aquatic/bog plant. The petioles or stems are green and covered in small thorns. The flowers are dark maroon to 8 inches to over 1 tall in mature plants. The leaves are very unique depending on the clone of Lasia spiona. This clone has very narrow hastate or arrowhead shaped leaves. The back lobes are also very narrow and held far apart. This clone was first seen in the US at the aroid show in 2009 brought in from Thailand. We have offered this odd clone from time to time depending on stock. Foliage: Narrow hastate leaves green. Petioles have small sharp thorns. Flowers: 8 inches to over 1 foot tall Height: 3 to 6 feet tall
