Sculptured Kalanchoe has powder dusted blue gray foliage delicately rimmed in shades of red and adds a unique form to succulent gardens. It grows slowly but densely on thick stalks to 10-12" in one season. We rather like the cream colored flowers which appear on 18" stems in the winter greenhouse. Shipping 4" plants.
Also known as the Paddle Plant or Flapjack Plant. Often confused with Kalanchoe thyrsiflora, which has much chalkier, blue leaves while Kalanchoe luciae has red leaf tips which turn even more red with stress.
Kalanchoe thyrsiflora Flapjack this is a succulent plant in the Crassulaceae family. It grows naturally in South Africa and is hardy to around zone 9. It has shown to make a great container or landscape plant even in the north were it can be brought in for winter months. The leaves are a blue gray color and can become red to orange if in sun. The leaves are thick and around 3 to 5 inches side and round shaped. Plants will grow around 2 to 4 feet tall with a white trunk and foliage that is layered down the trunk. Once mature a flower spike will emerge from the top with white small flowers. Small plants are produced of the flower spike to propagate next years plants.
