Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Alocasia cucullata was discovered growing around Buddhist temples in tropical parts of Asia. Grown as a good luck plant. It is considered to be a odd clone or seedling of Alocasia odora. It is easy to grow and I would recommend it for any new plant collector. The leaves are spade shaped and usually 6 inches to 9 inches long. As it matures it will form small trunks. It can flowers but from what I have seen it is sterile and would most likely not produce seed.
