Nursery contributed plant descriptions

P. maculata is a eastern US native that in many respects resembles the much more widely grown P. paniculata. Narrow, upright grower to three feet or so with big heads of many flowers. Unlike paniculata, however, maculata is very resistant to mildew, and this selection maintains clean foliage when the other phloxes are looking rather bad. Large white flowers with a striking dark pink eyes. Zone 4
A delicate little phlox, with small heads of white flowers, each with a twee lilac eye. Derived from Phlox maculata, the leaves are considerably different from those of P. paniculata - they are comparatively much thinner, shinier and thicker, and they show superb mildew resistance. 'Omega' was selected by Alan Bloom.
