Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Low, perennial clumps of dark greeny-purpled, ferny foliage topped by clusters of small, pretty mauve lavender thistle-y flowers with thin filaments that make it look ethereal August thru November. Yes, I know when I say 'thistle' you think 'weed' ...not so! A sweet, rare, late-blooming little beauty for sun, well drained, acidic soil and regular water. About 12" tall, relaxing out to 24" wide.
A rather uncommon plant, with widely spaced clusters of dainty bright purple-mauve bachelor-button flowers above dark green, narrow foliage. Star-shaped, light gold-brown seed heads in winter.
