Heavily blooming in May - July, spherical, golden-yellow double flowers up to an inch wide are undergirded by a clump of palmately lobed, toothed leaves. (This is not your meadow buttercup.) Shared with us by the keen and ever-generous Russell Graham. He thought we should have it and he was correct. And everyone likes buttercups, right? Just not in the lawn. Well, this one isn't the lawn kind (R. repens) but from the meadows of Europe and forms clumps, although it's technically spreading since it has short rhizomes. Since it's fully double, it won't produce seeds, either. A heavy bloomer and often reblooms for us in late summer. Grow this one in a average to moist soil.
