Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A pretty late summer blooming hardy cycalamen. Our plants have been blooming since mid July. Rich pink purple flowers appear as the new leaves appear.
A native to the Balkans, this is the hardiest of the Cyclamen species, loving a partially shaded site with good soil drainage in winter. The attractive heart shaped dark green foliage offers various patterns of light green and sometimes silver markings. Sweetly fragrant pink flowers are held above on 3-4" stems beginning in mid-summer and carrying on through early autumn. Shipping large corms in qt. pots.
If I would have to name the 10 best perennials, I could never decide on the 10 but I know this plant would be one of them. It's the hardiest of all the Cyclamen, has an extended blooming time and best of all, every single one is strongly fragrant. Bloom color varies between dark pink to deep magenta, leaf patterns from slightly marked to almost all silver. Furthermore they hold on to the foliage through most of the summer, when others are completely dormant. Prefers well drained soil like all Cyclamen.
