Non-vining multi stemmed perennial 2-3’ high and wide with elegant deep plum foliage that is overlaid with a silvery sheen; clouds of softly fragrant clusters of white flowers float above dark foliage May to July and are nice cut flowers! We cut ours back after bloom to renew foliage and for a second bloom. Average soil and water, best in sun; long lived, deer and rabbit resistant. Always in short supply and choice! USDA Z4-9
Own selection of this non-climbing clematis, grows in dense clumps with metallic dark plum-purple foliage, turning purple-green in summer. We trim it two times in summer and are rewarded with new dark purple growth, topped with flowers and no staking. Grows in most soils; tough and long lived.
