This is a fabulous boldly coloured astrantia with rich ruby red umbels. If you are astrantia crazy, this is for you! As with all masterworts the flowers are longlasting and contrast vividly with the deep green foliage. Excellent cut flower. Flowers early and reblooms in late summer. Try with Helleborus, Brunnera 'Jack Frost', and Athyrium 'Ursula's Red'.
