Opuntia microdasys 'Albata' is an evergreen cactus / succulent with green foliage. In spring and summer yellow flowers emerge. Features fuzzy and glaucous texture. Grows well with sun and occasional - low water. Prefers to be dry in winter. Does well in average, gritty, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.
Also known as 'Bunny Ears,' Opuntia microdasys var. albispina is a low-maintenance cactus which can grow up to 2 feet tall and 5 feet wide.
Make great ornamental houseplants because they have cute pads that are shaped like rabbit ears.
“microdasys” is the Latin term for “small and hairy”.
Their flowers and fruits are non-toxic to humans and pets, but it has many fine, white glochids which are irritating when embedded in skin.
Place these cacti in a location where cats, dogs, and children cannot touch them as the glochids detach easily.
This plant has been grown in a 4 inch pot. You will receive a very similar plant to the one in the picture. The plant is shipped "semi-dry-root" (with some soil to help protect roots).
