Hylocereus guatemalensis is also known as "the Dragon Fruit" and is a native of the American tropics. Some call it Pitaya or Pitahaya. The fruit has the taste of a grape Kiwi and it contains an antioxidant called lycopene which is known to help prevent cancer and heart disease. Likes to be grown on a post or trellis. Very unusual and unique-looking rambling cactus-like plant. Tastes like a grape kiwi Contains Lycopene the "antioxidant" fruit ripens from March to October, large white flowers similar to a rose, fast growth rate.
