Aloe cameronii is an evergreen cactus / succulent with bronze, green and red foliage. In winter orange flowers emerge. Attracts beneficial insects and hummingbirds. Grows well with sun - bright shade and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter. Does well in gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.
Aloe cameronii, also known as Red Aloe, is a medium-sized succulent, boasting upright stems that form open rosettes. Its slender leaves, ranging from verdant green to a luscious coppery red, create a stunning display, especially under ample sunlight. This aloe produces vibrant orange-red flowers on tall spikes during late fall and winter, attracting birds and bees with its sweet nectar. Originating from Malawi, it was first described in 1903 by William Botting Hemsley. Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, Aloe cameronii requires minimal irrigation to maintain its striking foliage color. Resilient to frost and disease, it serves as an eye-catching focal point in gardens, rockeries, and containers, adding a touch of beauty to any landscape while also attracting wildlife.
This plant has been grown in a 2 ga pot ( recently upgraded to a 5ga pot) and is still being sold as a 2ga plant for a limited time. You will receive a very similar plant to the one in the picture. The plant is shipped "dry root" (without soil).
