Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Rudbeckia 'Prairie Glow' is an unusual black-eyed Susan relative with dark red to burnt orange petals with yellow tips and is stunning in a mass planting. Flower stems are burgundy and tall. Rudbeckia perform exceptionally well in dry summer garden conditions, blooming for an exceptionally long time during the late summer doldrums and remaining tidy looking with little care. Great cut flower.
Your standard R. triloba, loaded down with flowers from late summer into fall reaching 3 to 4 feet in height, but in this case, instead of bright yellow petals, each flower is broadly marked with orange-brown.
Spangled with burgundy, bronze and reddish orange shades, irresistible legions of ebullient long blooming daisies parade dark chocolate centers and bicolor gold-tipped petals. At the base, large trilobed verdant leaves form a handsome bushy mass that gives way to upper, narrower leaves and openly branched, erect purple flowering stems. A denizen of the Great Plains, this summertime showstopper is not as long-lived as other Rudbeckias; it eventually wears out, but easily reseeds.
Lovely garnet many-branched stems hold upright clouds of daisy flowers in hues of gold and mahogany. A "tip of the garden cap" to David Cavagnaro, who shared seed of this Iowa prairie flower. A biennial to short-lived perennial that blooms summer and early fall. Self sows.
