Hamamelis vernalis 'Sandra' is a broadleaf deciduous shrub or tree with green foliage. In spring and winter yellow flowers emerge. Attracts bees and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and even moisture - regular water. Does well in rich and well-drained soil.

One of our favorite fall coloring shrubs. H.v. 'Sandra' has purple new growth in spring and early summer. In the fall, the foliage turns glowing red and will have color for three weeks. We understand that there isn't a fall color on H. 'Sandra' in the southeast. But in our part of the country it is superb. All hamamelis listed by Gossler Farms in the Fall/Spring 2024/2025 catalog are hardy to at least -12° in their Springfield, Oregon garden, and all are grafted plants.
