Thymus pulegioides 'Aureus' is a broadleaf evergreen perennial groundcover herb with gold, green and variegated foliage. In summer lavender flowers emerge. Attracts bees, birds and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Does well in average and well-drained soil.

Bright golden edged leaves are lemon scented on 6-8” tall plants that spread to about 2’ wide…will cascade over the edge of a pot or over a stone wall. Lavender pink flowers June - August are loved by bees. More reliable than some of the other thymes.

Thymus pulegioides ‘Aureus’ is a classic culinary thyme with golden-edges leaves and cheerful lavender flowers. Mounding to a foot tall and two feet wide, it can be used in borders, raised beds, or as a kitchen ready container plant. It is best grown in full sun and well drained soils and has done well for us with modest irrigation.
