Another tough and durable native sage for the dry garden, Salvia mellifera is commonly used in restoration work as well and we have been experimenting with a number of interesting clones. 'Terra Seca' is an evergreen shrub to 2' tall with a wide spread. Dark green, aromatic leaves are held tightly along the stems creating a dense mat of foliage. Small white flowers appear in spring. Plant in full sun or light shade and well-drained soils. Summer appearance is improved with occasional water. Deer resistant groundcover for difficult situations. Hardy to 10F. California.
