Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Exposed, contorted branches give this spreading mound an interesting, sculptural quality. Its long, thin, blue green needles add softness to the impression. Some confusion exists about the name: we have seen photos of 'Bennett Contorted' in The Harper Dwarf & Rare Conifer Collection in Tipton, MI that look nothing like the ones we grow. Our three 10-year old specimens have never developed upright leaders, which we regard as a great feature. This form also sold as 'Bergman Contorta.'
