Blue Mound' is a dwarf, conical form of the Swiss Stone Pine with blue-green needles that develops a dense canopy. They are popular for bonsai and for planting in small to medium sized landscapes where their size allows for a colorful pine tree without the need for frequent pruning. The needles are much softer than those of most other pine species and generally point upward which gives the whole plant a narrower appearance.
