Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of the first H. intermedia hybrids and one of the first four hamamelis we got in Portland, OR in the early 70's. In January, the broad vase shaped plant will be covered with red flowers. Still a pretty plant after all these years. All hamamelis listed by Gossler Farms in the Fall/Spring 2024/2025 catalog are hardy to at least -12° in their Springfield, Oregon garden, and all are grafted plants.
This strong, multi-branched, upright-growing shrub produces an abundant crop of early to mid-winter fragrant, coppery-red, spidery blooms! Witch hazels are such winter treasures when the garden is mostly devoid of color! This fine 12' selection also features yellow-orange- red fall color as a wonderful bonus. S-PSh/M
We grow all our witchhazels as small single stemmed trees. Ruby Glow grows strongly to 12' and is fairly erect; it has good fall color. zone 6
Strong growing cultivar with upright form and orange-red flowers.
