Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Callisia (syn. Tradescantia) navicularis, commonly known as chain plant, is a semi-succulent, trailing vine with small, keel-shaped, olive green leaves with purplish undersides with all colours darkening with a little stress. In rich conditions with more moisture stems will extend and trail. In lean conditions plants will remain quite tight and compact. An interesting companion for planting with other succulents in mixed containers. Small pink flowers late in the season. Easy care and fast growing. Enjoys bright, filtered light. Pinch out regularly to promote bushy growth. Protect from frost by growing as a houseplant in a shallow pot or hanging basket. Photo: Wikipedia.
