Mentha x piperita is a broadleaf deciduous perennial herb with green foliage. In summer lavender, pink and purple flowers emerge. Attracts bees, beneficial insects and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and even moisture - regular water. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average, clay, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and humidity tolerant.

Produces small pink or purple flower spikes in early Summer that are excellent for bringing bees & butterflies to the garden. The edible blossoms are charming as a garnish or floating in tea. Try adding sprigs to floral arrangements for their refreshing scent. Goes dormant in cold weather. Cut back any time to refresh.
