Spearmint-scented, pale green foliage splashed with creamy white. Covered in early summer with magenta, bell-shaped flowers. Calamint has soft, neat mounds of foliage and profuse summer flowers that attract bees. It prefers full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Calamints are close cousins to the garden mint but only spread slowly. Remove any all-green shoots as soon as they are noticed since plants can sometimes revert in places. Attractive to butterflies.
