Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Little Champion lives up to its name. This marvelous arborvitae has dark green foliage and grows into a broad globe shape, eventually reaching about 3'x3' in ten years. Early growth is fairly strong but it slows considerably after the first few years. It is a slow growing dwarf form, and bears an abundance of cones at an early age. Best of all for our northern neighbors, it bears a snow load better than many arborvitae. Discovered as a chance seedling in Canada in 1935 it was not introduced into commerce until 1955, but its overall good merits have only been widely recognized in modern times.
