This beautiful quick-spreading groundcover can be used in some of the toughest spots; deep silvery-blue evergreen foliage cascades over the ground or walls growing to only 6" tall but 6-8' wide; this easy-care, cold-hardy groundcover is highly adaptable and can grow in desert, mountain and urban conditions; it looks particularly good when planted among boulders or in rock gardens; this is a female cultivar of this tough and attractive North American shrub. Blue rug juniper is one of the best trailing junipers. The blue-silver foliage of this hardy juniper can take on a purple hue in winter. Blue rug juniper makes an excellent choice for large-scale ground covers. It cascades over walls beautifully. Deer resistant.
This form of 'Wiltoni' Blue Rug has gray-blue foliage that weeps to the ground, giving it a very narrow profile. If used in a bed of non-staked 'Blue Rugs', it will give the appearance of a fountain.
