Zones: 4-8. The soft green-gold foliage is more open than Hinoki (the standard for obtusas) and turns a rich copper in winter. It has excellent Bonsai qualities including ease of growth, colorful foliage and, best of all, the trunk thickens at a young age. Also makes attractive small landscape or rock garden accent.
