Nursery contributed plant descriptions

?The name ?delight? evokes the character of this shrub...colourful, attractive, strong, yet with a lovely light character? (Lawson-Hall); a large plant with a long season of pink and white lacecaps followed by russet>purple fall color. PSh/M
Like other lacecap Hydrangeas, 'Tokyo Delight' has multi-colored blooms with light colored petals surrounding a darker center. Having multiple colors in two styles makes these flowers much more interesting and attractive than the typical mophead style. You can change the flower colors by adding aluminum sulfate to produce blues or lime to produce pinks, providing enough flexibility for this variety to contrast well with other nearby plants.
'Tokyo Delight' is hardy to zone 5 but like many other Hydrangeas will perform better in the coldest zones planted where it has some winter protection.
This will be the delight of your garden. This is a smallish lacecap with white florets that turn a delicate pink as they mature. The centers are red pink and open with soft pink corymbs. Although small in size, the blooms make up for it in quantity and by layering bloom upon bloom. The leaves are dark green, but will have hints of red and purple in the fall.
