Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Pink lacecap hydrangea w/ double or triple flowers.

By: Nasketucket Gardens

We haven't seen anything like this Pretty Maiden. This Serrata's blooms looks dainty but are really stout and strong. Our stock bloomed the first year in the nursery with double to triple blooms on this lovely lacecap hydrangea. Flowers are pink to very pale lavender and will bloom early in the Summer. The leaves are of Serrata heritage and age that fabulous fall red. This variety prefers some afternoon shade and is ideal for container gardening. This plant was mis-named 'Pretty Maiden' when first introduced to the United States.
Once called 'Pretty Maiden' (which it is!), this compact 3-4' selection has stunning irregular mop-head flowers in pink (alkaline soil) or blue (acid). PSh/Med(not dry)/acid:blue, alkaline:pink
