Tecoma stans 'Butterscotch' is a broadleaf evergreen or semi-evergreen perennial shrub with green foliage. In spring yellow flowers emerge. Attracts bees and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and even moisture water. Does well in acidic, alkaline, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something seaside / salt tolerant.

The latest Greg Grant Esperanza introduction, Butterscotch Esperanza produces clusters of deep butterscotch yellow trumpets with an even darker colored throat. Like Gold Star Esperanza, Butterscotch flowers even at a small size and is a root hardy perennial in our gardens here at Almost Eden. Occasional deadheading will help keep the plant clean as well as promoting additional flowering although it is not a requirement as it will continue to produce buds and blooms until the first frost. In frost free regions Butterscotch Esperanza may develop into a large shrub or small tree. Here in zone 8B it is a reliably root hardy perennial that begins flowering by mid to late spring.
