Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An unusual Verbena that has 2 pink petals and 3 white flecked pink petals on each flower, producing an unusual cluster of flowers with all of the dark pink petals facing inwards providing a definite two-tone effect. This Verbena was shared with us by Dr. Carlos Smith whose grandmother had grown this Verbena in her garden. Sarah's long flowering season and trailing habit make it a wonderful addition to the garden. Spreads and slowly creates a dense groundcover or as a trailing plant in containers. A good choice for butterfly gardens. The trailing Verbenas are one of the earliest flowering perennials in our gardens and provide the early bird butterflies with plenty of choice nectar at a time when few other perennials are in flower.
