Alpinia nutans is a broadleaf evergreen or semi-evergreen perennial with green foliage. In summer white and yellow flowers emerge. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with mostly sun - shade and even moisture - regular water. Does well in acidic, average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, humidity tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

Dwarf Cardamom Leaf or Cinnamon Ginger is more commonly grown as a durable shade loving groundcover than as a spice. Plant it close to a path where it can be brushed to release the scent as you pass.
