Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The most popular variegated Oleander, Variegated Double Pink produces large clusters of large, fragrant, soft rosy pink, double flowers often with one or more petals having a white streak or flecks. The fragrance is reminiscent of baby powder. The large rich green foliage is edged in a wide band of creamy white to yellow and at times entire leaves may be creamy white. This is a large, vigorous and free flowering Oleander.Variegated Double Pink Oleander is sensitive to over fertilization which can cause the variegated portions of the foliage to turn brown. Oleanders are extremely durable and reliable evergreen shrubs for mild winter climates and are especially well adapted to the mild coastal regions of the US. Oleanders make rewarding container plants where not hardy. Salt tolerant, drought resistant, deer resistant, and adaptable to a variety of soil types although they do appreciate good drainage and seem to prefer a mineral soil over humus based soils.
