Flowering from summer and often well into winter this hardy heat and sun-loving tropical can be grown as a shrub, vine, or espalier. Cape Honeysuckle is evergreen in frost free climates and is deciduous in the cooler portions of its range. Above zone 9 it is likely to freeze to the ground in winter but may return from the roots if mulched and protected although flowering may be reduced. Very good drought tolerance once well established.
