Purple to light lavender pink flowers are nestled among the long-lasting pink to lavender 'scales' on dense beautiful arching to upright flower spikes from summer and lasting well into fall. Considered to be one of the most beautiful Blazing Stars by L.H. Bailey. This tough and drought tolerant clump forming bulbous native perennial produces rosettes of blue-green grass-like foliage from which the elegant flower spikes emerge. Attracts Butterflies. This beautiful perennial wildflower is common to the Pineywoods of western Louisiana and east Texas and needs a well drained soil for best results. Grown from locally collected seed.
