A vigorous blue Mealycup Sage that received the highest possible ratings in the UGA trial gardens in 2009. Spikes of electric blue flaring tubular blooms with a bright white eye. Mealycup Sage is a drought tolerant and free flowering perennial Salvia native to west Texas and New Mexico. It is quite tolerant of soil types but will need average or better drainage for the best results and performs wonderfully under average garden conditions. This tough little native will flower from spring to frost and revels in the heat and sun. Hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and other pollinators are all attracted to the flowers of Mealycup Sage.
