Deep burgundy new growth is topped with large clusters of white flowers creating a striking contrast. Medium to high disease resistance on a vigorous upright to spreading small tree or large shrub. Another beautiful introduction from Carl Whitcomb of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Burgundy Cotton? is a registered trademark of Lacebark, Inc., an Oklahoma Corporation. Not only do Crape Myrtles provide those beautiful flower clusters in summer and elegant peeling bark on mature trunks but they also have excellent fall color ranging from yellows, oranges, reds, and often purples. Provide your Crape Myrtles with as much sun as possible and ample nutrients since they flower on new growth to ensure you'll get plenty of those colorful flowers throughout summer. In zone 6 Crape Myrtles are often grown as die-back perennials and so should remain much shorter when grown in these regions. Considered to have excellent drought tolerance once well established.
