Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Camellia sinensis 'Yellow Tea' is a rare and unusual variegated form of the tea plant with the foliage irregularly and variably splashed with yellow and white. This beautiful shrub will light up your part shade garden and you can harvest leaves to make your own tea. The flowers are white to creamy white and appear in the fall. Should be hardy to zone 6b. Harvest or 'pluck' tea leaves during the warmer months. Select only the top three newly flushing young leaves from the branch tips. Research which method to use to dry and cure your leaves as this will determine which type of tea you get. Tea camellias becomes multi-branched and can reach 6 feet or more tall and wide in 10 years with profuse shoots to harvest from. Or keep shrubs pruned to any size you like. For the 2025 Citrus Pre-Order this tea is in a 5 gallon pot. It cannot be shipped via Canada Post or FedEx. Available only for pick-up or for courier or freight shipping.
Huge rich green foliage is generously splashed and flecked with bright yellow. A standout among variegated evergreen shrubs! This rare variety has huge foliage to 6"L. Small white flowers are borne in late summer-fall.
