Agastache foeniculum is an upright, clump-forming hyssop with lavender to purple flowers, densely packed along showy, cylindrical, terminal spikes. A big hit with bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Fragrant foliage.
An easy and rewarding agastache with dark green flawless foliage emitting a potent lemony fragrance, plus lavender blue flower spikes that draw bumblebees like kids to lollipops. Blooms midsummer to fall.
Easy to grow and beloved by butterflies and beneficial insects, this Northern US native has become one of the go-to perennials for deer country gardens. It blooms practically all summer long, with minty fragrance in both leaves and flowers. Lavender purple spikes are set off by green heart-shaped leaves. Plants will self- seed but easy to pull out if you don't want them- or share with a friend! Not invasive, just generous!

The crushed leaves of Lavender Hyssop, also known as Anise Hyssop, have a fragrance of mint and licorice. The bright purple flowers and textured foliage make this an excellent choice for sunny prairies, open oak woodlands, and savannas. Agastache foeniculum is biennial, and self-sows readily on open soil. Hardy to Zones 2 - 6.
A vigorous, clumping, Winter dormant perennial. Strong, square, stiffly erect stems, bear pairs of dark green, softly textured, sharply toothed, broadly lance shaped leaves which are strongly scented of licorice. All Summer and Autumn fat spikes of purple, tubular flowers are borne in great profusion to the delight of many nectar feeding insects. Cut to the ground in Autumn or enjoy the seed heads over Winter. Great for the tall border, or the back of a shorter one, perhaps with Salvia azurea and Monarda fistulosa. The fast growing mounds of leaves in Spring are alone, enough to make it worthy of garden space.
