This selection is mildew resistant and deer ignore it. Monarda needs moist to wet soil that never dries out and prefers full sun.
'Fireball' is a compact beebalm cultivar with red flowers great for containers and the front of the border. Monarda is native to eastern North America, is easy to grow and multiplies quickly. The flowers' sweet nectar attracts scores of hummingbirds, butterflies and bees to the garden. The aromatic foliage smells like mint when crushed and is often used to flavour teas.
Large clusters of glowing red tubular blooms are borne atop the short sturdy stems of this new dwarf Bee Balm. The compact plants are mildew resistant. Great for Hummingbirds! A clump forming slowly spreading perennial.
