Nursery contributed plant descriptions

'Candy Stripe' has dynamic visual appeal. The large 3" flowers are a rainbow of red, white and yellow giving them a festive pinwheel effect, and clusters of blooms appear on the terminal ends of the branches throughout the summer months. 'Candy Stripe' is a deciduous variety that goes dormant during the winter months. In the spring, new leaves appear and flowering begins again. Plumerias, also called frangipanis, are some of the most fragrant plants in the world and are used in Hawaiian leis which traditionally welcome guests.
Colorful pink and yellow striped, pinwheel-like blooms are highlighted by darker red and orange stripes. The fragrant blooms are borne in summer on this easily grown tropical tree. The large tropical foliage gives it a palm-like look making it a great addition around a pool. Easily grown in a patio pot, needs a fast draining soil. In colder climates, let it go dry in fall and store in a garage or other area where temperatures remain above freezing. Pull it out in the spring and start watering it and it will grow and bloom again.
