Loropetalum chinense is a broadleaf semi-evergreen shrub with green foliage. In fall, spring and summer white flowers emerge. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and regular water. Does well in acidic and well-drained soil.
A Chinese Witch Hazel relative fragrant flowers usually creamy white but can range to pink shades ours are from seed and may produce anything but the ones that flowered last year were mostly cream. Hardiness varies all over the place depending on whom you read; the exfoliating bark on mature specimens is most attractive.

Glowing maroon new growth matures to a deep burgundy on this tough and durable evergreen shrub. A profusion of bright fuchsia pink flowers glow against the dark foliage in early spring. Allow it to grow naturally as a large shrub or it can be pruned into a hedge, tree form, or as an espelier.
