tree, shrub
Malvaviscus arboreus is a broadleaf evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub or tree with green foliage. In fall, spring and summer orange and red flowers emerge. Attracts bees, beneficial insects, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and regular water. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in acidic, alkaline, average, gritty and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, humidity tolerant and seaside / salt tolerant.
