Hamelia patens 'Beyer's Variegated' is a broadleaf evergreen perennial shrub with variegated foliage. In summer orange flowers emerge. Features glossy texture. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and regular - occasional water. Drought tolerant once established. Does well in acidic, alkaline and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something seaside / salt tolerant.

The striking rusty red foliage is randomly flecked with white, with a rare touch green thrown in here and there. Clusters of orange-yellow tubular blooms are born throughout summer and fall to attract Hummingbirds and Butterflies. This unique selection of Mexican Firebush was first found and grown by Bob Beyer of Austin, TX in 2000. A great addition to the Mexican Firebush family!
