Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of the best and most fragrant oleanders, 'Mrs Isadore Dyer' has large, fully double blooms of rosy-pink with white striping on the petals. As the season progresses, the flowers become a darker pink. This free-blooming variety was brought to Texas in the 1840's by a prominent businessman and named for his sister-in-law, Mrs. Isadore Dyer. Oleanders are easy-to-grow plants that are drought tolerant and will survive a wide variety of soil types. 'Mrs Isadore Dyer' is ideal for container culture in northern zones.
Large clusters of large fragrant soft rosy pink double flowers, often with one or more petals streaked or flecked with white, are born over a long period on this reliable old favorite. Mrs. Isadore Dyer is considered one of the first Oleanders to make its way to Galveston island, the Oleander capital city. This is a large, vigorous, and reliable Oleander.Oleanders are extremely durable and reliable evergreen shrubs for mild winter climates and are especially well adapted to the mild coastal regions of the US. Salt tolerant, drought resistant, deer resistant, and adaptable to a variety of soil types although they do appreciate good drainage and seem to prefer a mineral soil over humus based soils. Oleanders also make excellent container specimens that are easily overwintered indoors in cooler climates.
