Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Reptilian aroid, tallish stems 3-4' with palmate leaves on dark-spotted stems; narrow spathe flowers are brownish-purple mottled with green and pink tones and distinctly striped with white vertical lines March-April (May). Leaves emerge post flowers. Offsets freely in moist, well drained soils in sheltered locations (winter mulch) in dappled shade.
A handsome Himalayan species with a striped and spotted purple and white spathe. The junction between the spathe-limb and the spathe-tube is deeply auricled (eared) presenting a most intriguing inflorescence. The short, stubby spadix is white and the foliage deep glossy green and heavily textured. A. nepenthoides is a tall species to at least four feet and is one of the earliest to emerge, usually in March. The stems are orange with purple mottles.
From the Himalayan Mountains. Requires mulch for protection in colder areas. I like these the best because they are so different in coloration than the rest. The spotted Spathes make them a point of interest. They bulbs are approx. the size of a baseball and starting to sprout. Healthy Full Size Bulbs. Best handled and transported during the cold season.
Blooms: Deciduous, Early spring, Green, white, carmine, brown mottled inflorescense, and pseudostem Zone 6-9. 3', China,Butan, India, Nepal, shade, moist, WD
