Allium falcifolium is a broadleaf deciduous bulb / corm / tuber with green foliage. In summer pink flowers emerge. Features grassy texture. Attracts bees and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - dappled shade and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Does well in average, clay, gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

Allium falcifolium is an intriguing and rare west coast native onion with unique, curved, blade or scythe-like leaves followed by loose heads of magenta-red flowers. Great for the front of the border or rock gardens. Few plants can offer the unique flower forms of ornamental onions. Every garden should have Alliums. Plant in multiples of 3, 5, 7 or more. Don't fret when foliage starts to die back just before flowering. It's normal. Just trim the leaves.
