Delicate rosettes of green and red leaves show through webbed cilia. Pink, star-shaped flowers. Hens & Chicks grow best in well-drained, gravelly soil that is not wet in winter. Drought tolerant. Requires little water once established. Great in containers and rock gardens.
Sempervivum Cotton Candy is an excellent selection of the cobweb hen and chicks with numerous, tiny leaves in tight rosettes shaded in light green and burgundy all topped with silvery cobweb-like hairs. The dangerously collectible Chick Charms series offers the boldest coloured and best-growing hen and chicks available. Sempervivum are super hardy requiring only full sun and excellent, sharp drainage, especially in coastal BC. Grow them as an edger for pathways or borders or in pots.
This hardy sempervivum variety spins a cobweb of white hair around red leaves tipped with green. Perfect for containers, rock gardens, as a ground cover, or anywhere else you can imagine.
