We got this beautiful plant from WE-DU Nursery over 25 years ago. The large foliage is slightly shorter than the dark purple red flowers. A robust plant that forms beautiful clumps.
In April - May, thoroughly and deliciously rose-pink fairy flowers, some of the largest in the grandiflorum group, open within the emerging foliage. Some flowers will be hidden later in the season, but their size will compensate. Clumping and deciduous. Minimum temperature: -20 °F
A fie selection of this deciduous Japanese species which was introduced by We-Du Nursery. Sizeable flowers of rich purple are the hallmark of this plant and it more than holds it own against more recent hybrids. All Epimediums can't be painted with the same drought tolerant brush and this one appreciates more water than the real drought tolerant species.
Some of the biggest flowers in the grandiflorum group, opening within the emerging foliage. Some flowers will be hidden later in the season, but their size will make up for it. Clumping and deciduous.
Large, heart shaped, spined foliage w/ reddish margins. New leaves emerge bronze color then mature to light green. Topped in spring by dark purple & red to rose-violet flowers. 10"-18". Deciduous.
