Ribes indecorum is a broadleaf deciduous shrub with green foliage. In spring white flowers emerge. Attracts birds, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Drought tolerant once established. Does well in well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant.

Deciduous shrub to 9' with dark brown, shredding bark on older specimens. Medium green leaves are palmately lobed, rough textured, and highly aromatic. White flowers appear in short, pendulous clusters from late autumn into winter. No summer water is required once established. One of the most heat and drought adapted species. Deciduous in late fall, but quickly produces leaves and flowers with onset of winter rains. Hardy to 10 °F. Southern California, Northern Baja.
Also known as white chaparral currant, this ribes is a deciduous shrub found primarily in California's dry country and growing to 6' tall or so, with lobed and veined leaves. Its great attraction is the early spring flowers, white and fragrant, drawing hummingbirds and butterflies, later turning to berries that feed other birds. Best in full sun in good drainage. Extremely drought tolerant, so no summer water once established. Frost hardy to -20 °F, USDA zone 5.
