Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Classic shrub of the Mediterranean, only this one has variegated leaves of dark green, edged and marked in creamy yellow. Stunning alone but add red, nearly cerise flowers in summer and the neighbors will beg for your source. To 4' or so with a dense, upright habit in full baking sun and well-drained soil. Drought tolerant, requiring very little summer water, but appreciates an occasional shower. Tolerates coastal conditions as well as urban pollution. Easy. Frost hardy to 15 to 20 °F, mid to upper USDA zone 8, average Portland winter temperatures, and resprouts from 10 °F, blooming the same year.
