Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of the loveliest of the cinnamomums and, as luck would have it, the most frost hardy. This clone, a tree to 20-30' from Tony Avent's garden, has 2", quaking aspen-shaped leaves that are shiny green above and blue beneath -- with, indeed the aroma of camphor where brushed or crushed. Stems, often red tinted, add to the excitement. This might be one of the best new broadleaved evergreens in ... weeks. Happy if provided dappled shade to full sun and occasional summer water in driest places. Has been frost hardy -- make that freeze hardy with no leaf damage -- to under 10 °F, uppermost USDA zone 7.
